“I strive to live a handmade lifestyle and think that the things we use should be beautiful, functional and inspiring. I am Abigail Brown, an artist living in South Austin with a focus in ceramics, mainly functional ware. I am very interested in the way people interact with the inanimate objects that surround their lives. So many things we use are unnecessary and so many needed objects are taken for granted. It would be very hard to do something as simple and necessary as drinking without a vessel to hold the liquid. With my functional wear I strive to create a connection between the user and the piece.”
